Head of Marketing & Communications
We are not looking for someone from the energy industry
About us
TTEP Netherlands B.V. is part of the partnership between EPH (Energetický a průmyslový holding) and TotalEnergies, operating across five countries through TTEP BV.
TTEP Netherlands strives for continuous and sustainable growth in energy production, supply and trading activities. We play a key role in ensuring a stable energy supply throughout the energy transition. Established in 2023 through the acquisition of PZEM and power generation assets in the Netherlands, TTEP Netherlands today operates four gas-fired power plants with an installed generating capacity of 2.6 GW, making it one of the largest power generation companies in the Netherlands.
Our trading activities include real-time and intraday optimisation, trading and portfolio management, flexibility services, and long-term structuring and origination.
As the company continues to expand its activities in flexible power generation (including Battery Energy Storage Systems), energy trading and B2B gas and power supply, we are seeking a Head of Marketing & Communications to contribute to the continued growth of our business.
Why this role exists
TTEP Netherlands produces 2.6 GW of flexible power and trades across European energy markets. What we do not yet have is a marketing function built for growth.
Our B2B supply business - selling power and gas to Dutch commercial and industrial customers - is our fastest-growing segment and our least-marketed one. We are currently the fifth-largest player in it, and we intend to move up. That requires proposition development, disciplined demand generation, and a brand that Commercial & Industrial buyers recognise and trust before a salesperson ever calls them.
That is the job. It does not exist yet in the form we need. You will build it.
Why this is worth your time
A greenfield mandate. You are not inheriting someone else's plan, agency roster or brand guidelines. You will set the strategy and then run it.
A seat at the table. You are the Board's sparring partner on positioning and reputation — not a layer removed from the decision.
Serious backing. TTEP is a 50/50 joint venture between TotalEnergies and EPH, operating across five European countries with 14 GW of capacity.
A genuinely interesting marketing problem. Dutch energy is being re-priced from volume to flexibility. Few B2B categories are changing this quickly, and almost nobody in our markets well.
What you will own
The B2B growth agenda. Segmentation, proposition, pricing narrative and demand generation for commercial and industrial customers — measured in pipeline and won volume, not impressions.
Market intelligence. Turn competitor, customer and regulatory signals into decisions the leadership team can act on.
Brand and reputation. Build recognition and credibility for TTEP among customers, regulators, media and the energy sector.
Leadership storytelling. Shape the external voice of the Board — thought leadership that is commercially useful and technically credible, not content for its own sake.
The team. Lead and develop a team of currently 3 marketing professionals plus the Communications Manager.
What success looks like after twelve months
A B2B marketing strategy agreed with the Board and in execution, with a measurable contribution to qualified pipeline.
A clear, differentiated proposition for our C&I segments that the sales team actually uses.
TTEP recognised as a credible voice on flexibility and security of supply in the Dutch market.
What we need
Eight or more years in solid marketing, including strong leadership experience.
A proven record in B2B demand generation for a considered, complex purchase — where the product is hard to differentiate and the buying cycle involves several people. FMCG trade and category marketing, financial services, telecoms, industrial goods, logistics and retail are all directly relevant.
Independent judgement and strategic conviction necessary to confidently advise, challenge, and collaborate with a board of directors. and the appetite to build rather than administer.
Dutch and English at a professional level. Our customers, regulators and most of the Dutch market operate in Dutch; our internal working language is English.
What we don't need
Energy sector experience. We mean this. We can teach you the commodity in three months; we cannot teach commercial instinct. Some of the strongest candidates for this role will come from outside our industry, and we would rather hire a better marketeer than a more familiar CV.
A marketing degree. We care for what you have built, not what you studied.
What we offer
A competitive salary, depending on experience.
20% variable remuneration.
Pension and disability cover.
Hybrid working.
